- as required Dry roast the above ingredients
- as required Grind to a fine powder

- Soak daal for 15-20 minutes, and then cook it in a cooker.(3-4 whistles)
- Wash the green spinach clean and chop them finely.
- Heat oil in a wok/kadai. Add cumin seeds, and let it splutter.
- Add chopped garlic and as the aroma emanates, add chopped onions to it.
- Add ginger garlic paste to onions once the onions are translucent.
- Add chopped tomatoes after the raw smell of ginger garlic paste is gone.
- Cook till the tomatoes are mushy. Now, add the chopped spinach and cook for 2-3 minutes.
- Add turmeric powder and chilli powder. Add some salt. Mix well and cook for another 2 minutes.
- Now, add the boiled daal to this. Add the ground masala powder to it. Cook till the mixture boils. add some more salt if needed.
