- For batti
- 2 cup wheat flour
- 11/2 cup coarsely grind wheat flour
- 1/2 cup sooji (rava)
- 1/2 cup fresh malai of milk (fresh cream)
- 1/2 cup curd (sour dahi)
- 1/2 tsp cooking soda
- 1 spoon ajwain
- 1/2 spoon haldi powder
- per taste Salt
- as needed Lukewarm water for kneading dough
- For dal
- 1 cup yellow moong dal
- 1/4 cup Tovar dal (arhar)
- 3 tomatoes
- 1 tsp ginger garlic paste
- 4 green Chilli
- 1 tsp hing
- 1/2 spoon mustard & cumin seeds
- 2 red dry red Chilli
- 10 curry leaves
- 1 spoon chop coriander
- 1 spoon red Chilli powder
- 1 spoon dhanya jeera powder
- 1/2 spoon haldi powder
- 1/2 spoon garam masala powder
- 1 lemon juice
- per taste Salt
- 4 spoon oil for making dal
- For gatta ki sabji
- 1 cup gram flour (besan)
- 1/2 spoon red Chilli powder
- 1/2 spoon haldi powder
- 1/2 spoon dhanya jeera powder
- 1/2 spoon garam masala powder
- 1 spoon sour curd (dahi)
- 1/2 tsp mustard & cumin seeds
- 1/2 tsp hing
- 3 spoon oil
- to taste Salt
- 8 cups water for boiling gatta
Instructions to make to make Dal batti & Gatte ki sabji
- First we will prepare dough for batti
Take all the measurements given above & make a semi solid dough & put it aside for 35 to 45 minutes - After 45 minutes knead the dough again & make small rounds with hole in between & preheat the microwave oven & adjust the settings
First preheat then put battis on microwave safe tray & bake them for 15 minutes on 200 degree Celsius on convection mode. - After 15 minutes turn battis and again bake them on convection mode for 15 minutes
Like this bake another battis & Then put them in vessel & put ghee to it
So that all battis are covered with ghee. Stir it up & down after adding ghee to it. - For preparation of dal --
Wash both dal thoroughly for five to six times till the water is clean
Then add enough water to it
Add two tomatoes & 4 green Chilli (cut in between) & 1/2 spoon ginger garlic paste, 1/2 tsp hing & 1/2 tsp methi Dana, 1/2 spoon haldi powder & 1 spoon salt in it - Then put the vessel in cooker & cook it for six whistles
Then after releasing pressure from cooker open the cooker & remove green Chilli from them & blend the cook dal with tomato in it - Now heat pan add oil then add mustard seeds, then cumin seeds, then hing, curry leaves, dry red Chilli, ginger garlic paste & Then all spices then mix it well
- Then add grated tomato & stir it till oil get separated from it & Then add chop coriander
- Now add one cup water & bring it to boil Then add cooked dal in it
Adjust the consistency by adding water if you see the dal is thick add enough water as you like
Then add lime juice to prepared dal when you switch off the flame of gas - Now your dal is ready to serve
Boil the dal for 15 to 20 minutes Then put off the flame - Now for preparation of gatta ki sabji --
Take one cup gram flour or besan add all ingredients mentioned above & make a semi solid dough & put it aside for 15 minutes - Then after 15 minutes take a vessel with enough water & bring it to boil and take the dough & make rounds as shown & Then put this rolls in boiling water
- Boil them till the rolls are cooked and are easily ready for cutting in small pieces
- Now put oil in pan add mustard seeds, then cumin seeds, hing, curry leaves & Then add cut gattas in it & add spices in it & mix it properly
- Now boil this sabji for 5 minutes Then add lemon juice as per your taste & garnish with chopped coriander
Your gatta sabji is ready - Now assemble all the items in a serving plate
Take battis, dal, gatta ki sabji & churma ladoo & serve it
