  1. 1 cup tur dal(pigeon pea dal)
  2. 1 small onion
  3. 1 small tomato
  4. 1 teaspoon ginger garlic paste
  5. 1 teaspoon red chilli powder
  6. 1 teaspoon salt
  7. 1 tsp mustard seeds and cumin seeds
  8. 1 tsp asafoetida
  9. 2 teaspoons desi ghee
  10. 3 dry red chillies
  11. Few Chopped coriander leaves
  12. 2 teaspoons oil
  13. 3-4 Green chillies
  14. 1/2 Teaspoon turmeric powder
  15. 1 teaspoon garam masala

Steps to make to make Dal Tadka

  1. First, wash tur dal. Put in a vessel add water, asafoetida, turmeric powder. Pressure cook it by giving 3 whistles.
  2. Fine chop tomato and onion, green chilies, and coriander leaves. Heat deep pan adds oil to it. Once hot add mustard seeds, add onions saute, add ginger garlic paste. Now add tomato and green chilies saute till mushy.
  3. Add curry leaves, turmeric powder red chilly powder.mix well, add cooked dal, gram Masada, salt. Cook for 5 to 7 minutes.
  4. Now in a tadka pan add ghee, once hot add chopped garlic, dry red chilly, cumin seeds.
  5. Pour this Tanaka on cooked dal. Serve hot with steamed rice or tandoori roti. enjoy
