- 1 tsp cumin seeds

- 2 red chilli
- 5-6 curry leaves
- 2 tbsp garlic, chopped
- 1 onion chopped
- 1 tomato chopped
- 1 tbsp kasuri methi
- 1 tbsp kasmiri red chilli powder
- For second tempering -
- 2 tbsp ghee
- 1 tbsp chopped garlic
- 1 tsp kasmiri ref chilli powder
- 1 pinch hing (asafoetida)
Instructions to make to make Double tarka Dal Fry
- Heat ghee in a pressure cooker, add tur dal and moong dal to the pressure cooker and roast for 2-3 mins.Addturmeric powder, salt, green chillies and curry leaves, mix well.Now add water, cover and allow to cook for 2-3 whistles.
- Assembled all mentioned ingredients at one place.
- Heat ghee and oil in a kadai, add cumin seeds, chopped garlic, curry leaves, red chilli, tomato and kasuri methi saute till fragrant, add onion and saute till translucent, mix well, cook for 2-3 mins.
- Now add boil dal to this tempering and allow to cook simmer for 3-4 mins and add chopped coriander leaves and mix well.
- Now pour the prepared dal into a ser ving bowl.
- Now prepare the second tempering - Heat ghee in a tadka pan, add chopped garlic, kasmiri red chilli powder, hing and mix well, pour the prepared tempering in to the dal and serve hot with jeera rice or Paratha, chapati.
